Hidden amidst the picturesque village of Movva in Krishna District, Sri Movva Venugopala Swamy Temple is much more than a place of worship: it is a classic fusion of faith, art, and cultural legacy that is beyond years. Adored for its peaceful environment and divine feel, this temple has a special place in the heart of the music and dance lovers.

This is one of the sacred sites with which the legendary Kshetrayya, the seventeenth-century Telugu poet and composer of devotional padams (lyrical compositions) is very much identified. It is considered that many of his highly profound and melophorous creations were created here following the divine form of Lord Venugopala.

The temple, devoted to Lord Krishna in the wonderful form of Venugopala, emanates peace and piety. The idol is in a pose of playing the flute and is the mark of love, grace, and divine music — is not only appealing to devotees but to artists and scholars as well of the whole region.

Situated within Chilakalapudi, in Machilipatnam within Krishna District – Panduranga Swamy Temple comes as a coveted spiritual destination in Andhra Pradesh. A place of worship admired by devotees as a sacred place that would be a replica in terms of architecture to the great Pandharpur Temple in Maharashtra this temple is a mere reflection of faith and devotion.

Panduranga Swamy Temple was constructed in the year 1929 by Sri Bhakta Narasimham and it is dedicated to Lord Panduranga (a form of Lord Vishnu/Krishna). The Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) in the temple and the deity are very similar to those in the original Pandharpur shrine, and serves a deeply spiritual function for devotees who may not make the journey to Maharashtra.

A great idol of Sri Abhayanjaneya Swami (a destroyer form of Lord Hanuman) is placed directly in front of the presiding deity. His being brings out a protective and dynamic glow to the temple, and draws Hanuman followers within the whole region.

📍 Location: Chilakalapudi, (close to Machilipatnam), Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh

🕒 Temple Timings: Daily; mornings and evenings would be ideal for darshan

🌸 Best Time to Visit: During Kartika month (October–November)
