The record also talks of consecration of the Mahalinga in the temple, and also mentions about the installation of Panchalingas in the place.

Last, Kakasura hid behind of Lord Rama and begged pardon, when others refused to help. As Lord Rama freed him from being a crow that was the demon’s cursed form, it is said that no crows are ever seen in and around this place.

Sangama is a small village of canakapura taluk in ramanagara district of 60 km from ramanagara. It comes under mahalli panchayat. It falls in 59 km from Bangalore. Sangama is bounded to the north by Ramanagara taluk.Office of Shahapur Village Panchayat located about 65 Kms from Bangalore Metropolitan city on National Highway No – 4, Bangalore – Mysore road on the east of Mysore for 36 Km ghat section heading towards Southern direction.Pallevatta is another Gram Panchayat, which is 550 yards/4 min walk in Southward direction which is surrounded by Ramangara, Thally, Channapatna and Maddur taluks. Mekedatu is about 4 km from sangama, mekedatu is called so because it is place where goat’s leap happens. The name originated from an incident which persuaded that it has been seen by bersmen in thta area a long time before. It is said that a goat that was being chased by a tiger made a forlorn attempt for its life and leapt from one side from George in desperation and managed to jump across the churning stream below, whereas, the tiger did not try this too, and gave up the chase. It is thought only divine goats could have left their “footprints” in such stones. This destination caters more tourist number AND more dander as well.
