1.Pala Tipo

Pala Tipo / Pala Lake is a natural lake located in the village Phura of the Siaha district in Mizoram, north eastern state of India. Pala Tipo is an approximately 800 meters oval shaped water body, with an approximately 700 meters wide and is reckoned to be simply 30 to 40 meters deep.
Lake Tanganyika is constantly supplied by water source in two small rivers in the nearby mountains and then pours in to a small river tracing a fertile valley around the catchment area that is a most fertile agricultural region around the local Mara people living over here. A time had come that the villagers got to know of the existence of a wild animal resting under the boulder since, the same was noticed that children and livestock were frequently going missing there but without any caution. Some day they came and dug up the boulder to their great astonishment, they found a giant serpent that was living in a cavity under the boulder. Despite long efforts to kill snakes the serpent was ultimately killed, however after drowning of so much an it huge body mass of flesh and bone to be extracted from the hole in which the serpent was making, causing that part of naked to fall to ground below and opening the floodgates for water to fill valley and bury village under water. The water levels rose and inundated in all liveliness and the nearby village, turned into the Pala Tipo as it is now, and so its queer name also.
