Best places to visiting in Namchi

1. Tendong Hill 

Located in a peaceful surroundings, Tendong Hill is revered by the local for fending off the flood and calamity. As per the locales, at one point flood had invaded this place and the land here had lifted itself to help other people. In the rainy season, the people here pray to the hill to protect them from any disaster. This is one of best visited tourist spots in Namchi and also the perfect trekking place in South Sikkim. Located 8530 feet above level, the hill has exquisite view of mountain and the surrounding plains.

This hill is full of dense forest which has trees of rhododendron and magnolia. One can have a stunning view of the Chola range in the east, Singalila range in the west, Nathu La, Darjeeling and part of plains of West Bengal and Gangtok town. Only trek with the path that commences from Damthang is the way to ascend to this hill. One can experience the grandeur of lush flora & fauna during trekking up the hill. One of the most visited places to visit in Namchi, Sikkim is one of this.

2. Namchi Garden-Experience The Flower Diversity

At the base of mamdruptse Hill this Namchi Rock Garden was founded by sri. pawan chamling (Chief Minister of Sikkim) in 2005. The one of the wonderful tourist spots of namchi sikkim this garden is abound with different species of plants, flowers and trees. On this route to Namchi Rock Garden you will come across several scenic points, number of water bodies and lush greenery.

Take a walk through this garden & appreciate the full september of bukkas. Other notable points of the garden is the Samdruptse Rope Car. 3. Kitam Bird Sanctuary – Watch Bird Flight

One of the well-acknowledged bird sanctuaries in Sikkim, Kitam Bird Sanctuary is a protected sanctuary located between Namchi to Melli. Situated at the altitude of 1200 feet to 3200 feet, this sanctuary comprises of a huge area of 6 square kilometers with adequate coverage of vegetation of shrubs and sal.

One Rangit and Manpur river flows through this sanctuary as two villages Sumbuk and Kitam are located in this sanctuary. This is the only year round remaining low altitude bird sanctuary attracting the birders, being an attractive point for the bird lovers. Boasting a total of 200 species of birds and the vibrant flying butterflies, Kitam is famous for its popularity.

4. Siddeshwar Dham – Visit With Fam

Built by Sikkim Government in 2011, with a vision of promoting tourist patronization of the district to economically, religiously and village tourism, Siddeshwar Dham / Char Dham. This is one of Namchi top Tourist places with 108 ft high Station of Shiva & 10 Jyotirlingas (models), scale of sanctimonious Char Dham Hindu Temples in Jagannath, Badrinath, Rameswaram and Dwaraka.
That is the Major attraction of this Siddeshwar Dham / Char Dham is the 108 feet very big statue of Lord Shiva (God of hindu) Postion is Sitting.

6. Ngadak Monastery—Meditate In An Old Monastery

Considered as Nandak Gumpa, Ngadak Monastery is Oldest monasteries in Sikkim and one of the top sightseeing Places in Namchi. Built of stone, and sand in the 17 the Centuary this monastery was constructed by Tensung Namgyal in the reign of Chogyal Gyurmed Namgyal.
Famous for attracting a large number of pilgrims, the temple is endowed with best environment to meditate.

7. Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary – Color Gradation

One of the prime destinations which you must check in Namchi is Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary covering massive area of 3500 hectares. Here you can come across Red Panda, Barking Deer & leopard cat. The Blood Pheasant, Hill Partridge, Black Eagle and Magpies are others for the bird enthusiast. At the top ridge of this sanctuary there’re a Buddhist Monastery named Maenam Gumpa.
