

The most Famous shrine in mother goddess is Sukrala Devi Shrine at a distance of 9.60 Kms from Billawar & about 75 Kms from Kathua. The Shrine is situated on the top of a hillock at the height of 3500 ft amidst sylevan surroundings. The white line painted imposing structure of temple stands up majestically. Pilgrimage-ners have to climb many a stairs to reach the revered temple. The holy shrine is the residence of goddess Mal Devi, who is the rebirth of Sharda Devi. The goddess has assume here her shape of a Shilla (Stone Slab) sitting in Brass Lion guarded with a Silver mounted Head. Behind it, there is an image of Mahishasur Murdini (re-incarnation of Maha -Laxmi) standing on the body of Mahishasur the demon king. The Goddess is four Armed with sword in one of her hands. The Shrine is surrounded by many a legends. According to history, this Holy Shrine is built by Madho Singh and deposed Prince of Chamba (Himachal Pardesh). Year after year, the Pilgrimage to the Shrine is getting more. Lets see its number will go up to over 50 thousand during the Navratras.

It is a lovely meadow at a height of 7000 ft, and inhabits snow, 6 months in a year. BACKGROUND The virgin beauty of the posh place cast a strong emanation to any visitor.
