He was regarded to be a ‘SahajaKavi’ (natural poet), without a teacher. He was very polite, and he was an agriculturist. Though he was a great scholar, he never doubted showing up in the fields to peddle in the agricultural sphere.
In his early years, he wrote.
Bhogini Dhandakam is a poem in praise of king Sri Singa Bhoopala’s concubine Bhogini. This was his maiden poetic expedition which was the seed of his magnificent poetic gifts. Bhogini Dhandakam is the first available Dhandaka (rhapsody which uses the same gana or foot all through) in Telugu. One of the region’s most spiritually powerful but lesser known temples — the Sri Ramachandra Swamy Devasthanam is hidden in the secluded hills of Jeedikal village, close to Jangaon, Telangana. Wherever one sees a rock or looks into a pool of water, it retells the stories from the Ramayana, making this temple not a place of worship, but a living memory of divine intervention and favor.
It is, as local legend has it, precisely this point in its history the dramatic episode from the Ramayana where Lord Rama shoots the demon Maricha, who masquerades as a golden deer to trick Sita. When his tomb was hit by the arrow of Rama, Maricha reveals that he is actually Chitraradha, a celestial being cursed, and asks for apology. Moved by his repentance, Lord Rama blesses him and consents to appear here as a Swayambhu (self manifested idol) in that hillock – so this place becomes divinely selected and spiritually intense.
