Just 3 km away from Ravulapalem in Andhra Pradesh, there is a small village of Ryali that has one of the most peculiar and spiritually important temples of India, the Jaganmohini Kesava Swamy Temple. The revered status enjoyed by Ryali because of this unique and rare dual-sided idol and divine energies has made it a popular destination to devotees, history buffs, and art lovers.

The masterpiece of ancient sculpture, the presiding deity, Jaganmohini Kesava Swamy, was fulfilled. Fashioned out of one jet black stone, the idol is five feet tall and none of a kind in the country. The front of the picture shows Lord Kesava (Vishnu) and beautiful depictions of Dasavatara – the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
However, the thing that really makes this idol stand out from the others is the opposite side, which shows the beautiful shape of Jaganmohini, female incarnation of Vishnu. This is such a rare dual aspect sculpture that is a deep emblem of the masculine and the feminine energies of the divine combined into one shape.
