Pillalmarri Chennakeshava Temple is a Lord Shiva’s shrine that can be dated back more than a millennium. The Situated in the Pillalamari village of Suryapet is Chennakeshava Temple, one of Telangana’s oldest temples. The Chennakeshava Temple is standing on the banks of River Musi, which also functions as a living testimony to the exquisite arts skills of Kakatiya dynasty. The walls are decorated with a fine ornamentation of carvings and the walls with great precision carved are telltale signs of the outstanding skill of the architects and the craftsmen. Beautiful paintings are to be found on the walls of the temples. Stone inscriptions in the temple give information about the rulers who reigned at this time. The major god worshipped in the temple is Lord Chennakesavaswami. >Every year during February to March, the idol is spared no expense and lavishly decorated with countless jewels as celebration. The temple congregation is big since people from different places come to worship the Lord and bless themselves from him. Men and women from everywhere close and far are streaming to this temple. Phanigiri located around 52 km from Nalgonda town and some 40 km away has a rich history behind it. Phanigiri is highly regarded as one of the greatest Buddhist places in the country. This site has a Buddhist complex characterised by its huge stupa. Also contained in this complex are the apsidal halls with stupas. There can be seen two large footprints within the complex area. There is a legend that these footprints belong to Lord Buddha. On the hilltop, Serpent’s Hood Hill you will see three viharas. The hill’s shape may have been one of the reasons it got its name. In the past the viharas were places where Buddhist monks lived.

The Nagarjuna Sagar Dam has over the years become the attraction point to tourism providing attraction to large numbers of tourists yearly. Telangana and Hyderabad have a share in the operation of this dam. The flow of water to these regions : Suryapet, Nalgonda, Khammam, Guntur, West Godavari, Prakasam and Krishna is provided by the Dam. It also generates hydroelectric power. Undrugonda is in the Chivvemla Mandal district of Nalgonda, and it is in Vallabhapuram village, near Suryapet. Old hill fort built by vishnukundinulu in the fifth century ad and enlarged by many dynasties. This place is a great archaeological site and an ardent pilgrimage center, with numerous temples. It is the people of the surrounding area who most earnestly revere Sri Utndrugonda Laxmi Narasimha Swamy. Undrugonda will be one of the most memorable points of your trip.
