The CenterPoint Ferry Pier (also called the Aow Thammachat Pier) is a major stop for those driving by road from Bangkok to Koh Chang. The terminal here is used a lot, but it’s efficiently organized and getting there is smooth.

Traffic conditions usually cause the drive from Bangkok to CenterPoint Ferry Pier to take between 5 and 6 hours. As soon as you arrive at the pier, be prepared to find a line of cars there and mostly on weekends or holidays. We had to wait 20 minutes for boarding since there were a lot of us.

The ferry was well kept, cozy and spacious enough for people and vehicles alike. If you remain in your car, you will see the approach to Koh Chang or you may prefer to head up to the terrace for some sea breeze and views of the Gulf of Thailand.
