

The ancient Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple has a history that goes back to the Tretayuga fascinates the curious minds about history and the ones. Legend has it that sage Yadarishi, son of Rishyasrunga and Santa Devi went in a cave which lay between the Bhongir and Raigiri hills and began performing extreme penance.<< The one of the incarnation of Lord Vishnu – Lord Narasimha manifests in five divine forms before Yadarishi. These forms were Sri Jwala Narasimha, Sri Yogananda, Sri Gandabherunda, Sri Ugra and Sri Lakshminarasimha.
The Skanda Purana of the eighteen Mahapuranas, gives an account of the origin of the temple. Another tradition narrates that: as a reward for his penance, Lord Narasimha sent Sri Anjaneya (Hanuman) to point out to Yadarishi the spot where he should do his rituals. The place at the base of Yadagiri hillock became famous as Yadagirigutta Temple, when the Lord Narasimha appeared as Sri LakshmiNarasimha.

Bhuvanagiri Fort is a wonderful example of a structure that combines the Hindu and Mughal styles. An impressive architecture and large walls, artistic carvings and thoughtful bastion placements are some of the fort’s attractions. At an approximate size of 50 acres, the fort contains many buildings as well as winding trails, leading the visitors up on to the top. The layout of the fort is marked by the dynasties that ruled over the place over time. The original buildings of the fort contained Chalukyan features, but the buildings built during the period of the Kakatiya and the Qutb Shahi were Islamic in design. Due to its combined architecture pieces, Bhuvanagiri Fort commands great intrigue among historians and architecture lovers.
The visitors to the Bhuvanagiri Fort are allowed to enter the fort premises between 10:00 and 4:30 every day. It is better to start your visit early in the morning so you could not get a real taste of the daytime temperatures and enjoy the fort without being overwhelmed. Bhuvanagiri Fort is the best for hot-weather activities when the end of December and beginning of March.
