The Dikhu river is one among the most prominent rivers of Nagaland. The river Dikhu passes through the Mokokchung and the Longleng districts country. It is one of the main tourist spots of Longleng that this river. The tranquil ambiance and white sand dunes make it are beautiful spotalunch. During the winters the water level will go down. Must see once in lifetime for every tourist to sit by the edge of river and take beauty of that place. The rivers of Nagaland serve as an important source of water for the state of Nagaland. Fishes are abundantly found in all these rivers. The Dikhu River is one of the Brahmaputra tributary river. The river passes by fields that are situated in Mokokchung district. Bhumnyu is a large village situated in Longleng Circle of Longleng district, Nagaland with total 491 families residing. The Bhumnyu village consists of 2096 males and 998 females as in actual population of Population Census 2011.

Child population (0-6) in rural area of Bhumnyu village is 405, which is 19.32 % of total rural population. Average Sex Ratio of Bhumnyu village is 909 which is 18 lower than Nagaland state average of 931. Child Sex Ratio in T P Num of Bhumnyu area is 784 as per census data, which is below Nagaland average of 943.

Pongo is a quaint rural village situated in the Tehsil of Longleng, Longleng District, Nagaland, India. Situé à une distance presque de 8 kilometers to the west of the district headquarters, Longleng town, Pongo presents a peaceful aguing backdrop of hilly with a rich cultural heritage.​

Located about 1,014 meters above sea level Pongo falls under the “Land of Clouds” which is another nomenclature for Longleng District because of misty landscape and greenish scenery. As per the 2011 Census, the village has a community of 2,586 residents distributed across 466 households. The sex ratio is 47.7% female, literate population is 46.9% where as female literacy rate is 21.2% .​

Cultural Significance

  • Pongo is mainly inhabited by Phom Naga tribe, famous for their colourful customs and traditions. One of the important cultural sight in village is Nangthumorung a community house use for education and cultural preservation. Since its opening in October 2023, the Morung is a symbol of the community’s dedication to preserve its intangible heritage.​
