1.Amreng

District of Karbi Anglong has few captivating tourist spots and Amreng, river cape is one of them, approximately 120 Km away from the town of Diphu and 30 Km away from Lanka. This scenic spot lies midway between the river Kapili, one of the rivers of Assam that hold the most prestige and its synonyms a river, which is also called Amreng. This tourist place is surrounded by lush evergreen forests from all sides, magnificent blue water color. In the vicinity, on the river-side is a tourism lodge. However, like any other tourist destinations of Karbi Anglong district, the real tourism potential of the tourism industry remains untapped, several tourisms related infrastructures are yet to be set up.

Getting There
The district of Karbi Anglong is very well linked with the city of Guwahati by road. You have to reach Diphu from Guwahati by road and then proceed to Amreng. The nearest airport from the cape, is Dimapur airport which has local transport services. In the varisty of Karbi Anglong there are a few railway stations, one of these was located at Diphu.

Best Time to Visit

It is the best time to visit Amreng between November to March when winter is too strong and there is certain dryness. However, except for 2-3 months of late summer and monsoon, the location can be visited throughout the year since the weather is fine throughout the year apart from a few months.

2.Khanduli 

Khanduli situated in the block or Tehsil of Donka, district Karbi Anglong is also called as the New Zealand of the east because of its spectacular lookouts and sceneries. This is a temperate grassland and similar characteristics are found just as with its adjacent Umwang grassland. Grassland consists of rolling models of which appears sand dunes of desert in the moonlight and gets the attention of a large number of tourists for viewing its beauty, in case of anything else. The distance between the spot and head quarter of the West Karbi Anglong called Hamren is just 26 km only. Khanduli draws in a lot of visitors, who seek to have a calm from the crowded city life.

The pasture of khanduli also very famous with the lovers because of the secluded location and creamy look. Besides, trekkers also arrive at Khanduli & start trekking expeditions to Umwang, which link with Khanduli via a dirt road. However, the place still has not reached its full potential in terms of as being a tourist spot.

Getting There
Guwahati is 198 km far from Khanduli. Taxis are available from Guwahati to reach the grassland area. This village is close to Shillong airport of the Umroi Airport and you can easily cover this pest using direct car service. At the same time in district of Karbi Anglong number of railway stations have the facility of direct local transport for khanduli.

Best Time to Visit

Khanduli is preferable to visit during winters and spring. But the climate here like the other locations of Karbi Anglong is amiable all through the year excluding the late summer and monsoon season. Hence, the months of June, July and August must be avoided while touring the grassland region Khanduli of Assam.

3.Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary 

Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary, situated in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam is habitat of 51 varieties of rare orchids. The sanctuary plays host to 6.05 kilometer square dwelling and is a home to endangered birds, trees and animals with safe habit. The vegetation of the sanctuary is tropical semi evergreen and climate of the sanctuary is of moist tropical type. The sanctuary is the oldest one of this region and has a hot spring. Garampani Sanctuary lies amidst an other wildlife reserve Nambor Sanctuary. It also has several types of wild life including clouded leopard, barking deer, jungle cat, sambar, gaur and Asian elephants. The sanctuary has also a number of birds such as hornbill, green pigeons, kingfisher, minivet, brown fish owl among other species. It also has a variety of trees including, bhelu, holokh, holong, proma, hilikha etc. For traveling to Garampani Wildlife Sanctuary one could stay at any of the two Inspection Bunglows, one at Golaghat town situated 25 km away from the sanctuary and other at Karbi Anglong town. Golghat has some circuit houses and hotels as well.

Golaghat is at a distance of 25 Km by road, there is road connectivity to this town, nearest railway station from this sanctuary is Furkuting Rail Junction, 20 Km away from this place and direct taxis, buses or private cars are available to reach to Garampani Sanctuary.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit the sanctuary is between November to April, the best time to visit is when the weather is comfortable enough to enjoy during this period of year. After April, the temperature increases and humidity increases as well. It is also advisable to avoid the place during monsoons as it rains heavily at that time.
