Located in the spiritual backyard of this country resides Parshvanath Mandir, one of the most sacred temples of an ancient civilisation-Jainism. This sacred place is a symbol of faith, history and of architectural elegance.

Located on the quiet banks of the chiller river, Raj Rajeshwari Mata Mandir is one of the most prestigious historical and holy sites in Shajapur, Madhya Pradesh. Shajapur is itself located on the well-known Agra-Bombay Road, (NH-52), so it is easily accessible to the tourists as well as the pilgrims.

History

  • The temple has a rich history and heritage. This place of worship stands for over 300 years as a symbol of faith, culture and community spirit.
  • In the year 1781, Manibai Paltan made a noble donation of land piece of 4 Bigha 2 Bisva for the temple campus.
  • A decade hence, in 1791, Tarabai gave a donation of ₹4106 towards the building of the temple — a considerable amount at that time.
  • The Sabha Mandap (assemblage hall) standing before the main sanctum is also established by Sri Vallabhacharya in 1734 for conducting congregations, religious discussions and functions.
