People who enjoy studying archaeology as well as ancient ruins should visit the site of Da-Parbatia in Assam. The district of Sonitpur in Assam contains the small village of Da-Parbatia which stands 6 km west of Tezpur City. Archeological experts determined that one temple was built in the 6th century before another temple dedicated to Lord Siva emerged from the ruins that existed during the period of the Ahom dynasty. The Archaeological Survey of India led two excavation missions starting with the first one in 1924 and finishing with the second one in 1989-90 thus controlling the region today. The remaining temple structure reveals that its Garbhagriha space is shaped as a square but its mandapa area adopts a rectangular form. The figurines of the ruin exhibit Gupta style characteristics while built from stone and brick materials. The Gupta period temple lay under reconstruction to create a Shiva temple by the Ahom rulers. The tourist accommodations at Tezpur include both the circuit house and Dak Bangalow in Tezpur. In addition to the circuit house and Dak Bangalow facilities the area provides fully furnished lodges for tourists.

However, it is not known as to by whom was the construction of this temple, but it is believed to be that was built under early Pala period. It is also believed that this was the Lord Vishnu temple and also it was North Indian Nagara style temple.

In the lovely city of Tezpur, this beautiful park is located known as the Cole Park. The park was constructed by a commissioner of Assam named Mr Cole in the year 1906 and it was reconstructed by M G V K Bhanu in 1996. Name of park was newly named as Chitralekha Udayan Park after the fame name of a character in the Aniruddha Usha love story. Situated in the midst of a number of misty hillocks and green terrains and blue lakes, the Park is a beauty that is truly a sight to behold. There is a peaceful lake within the park which allows boating to be carried out. The park remains open from 9 am to 7 pm. It has open areas, open stage ground and diners for entertainment of the visitors. In addition, some of the old artifacts from close by areas are shifted to the park for public viewing, out of which the most significant being the inscription of Bhomoraguri, which is an ancient map of building a bridge on the River Brahmaputra is a notable one.

The Chitralekha Udayan Cole park is one of the most beautiful Tourist places located Centre of the city of Tezpur. There are also many amusement rides were in the park such as a bump a car and some water sports at the horse-shaped lake. Alongwith them are historical antiques such as the Bhomoraguri Inscription, and two big beautifully carved stone pillars have been lifted from the hill of Bamuni. There is also model of MIC 21 fighter plane and map of India with statal divisions since year 2000.

The park is easily accessible to the nearest to nearby cities and towns by number of buses of state government and private operators. Rickshaws and auto rickshaws are in the park from near the local bus stand.

The park lies in an area which is instituted by sub-tropical climate, and as a result the warmest period of summer can be energetically sulfurous and humid. The most favorable time for visiting the park, is in winter and in spring. The park is advisable to avoid during rainy seasons because of absence of shelters
There is an hillock, Agnigarh hill on the Brahmaputra at Tezpur, the District of Assam. The place has also earned fame due to the mythical romance associated with it. As per the Hindu mythology the grandson of lord Krishna aniruddha and daughter of kickoff asuran king Banasur, named Usha had been in love with each other. Banasura however was unosal and imprisoned Aniruddha in another place and kept Usha his daughter in secret custody in this place. It was believed that this place was flanked by fire boundary, which Could cross no one impersonally for the permission of Banasura & thus & was called, Agnigarh or the fort fire. Currently this is one of popular tourist places in the region. There is a round staircase that elevates you to the hill crest where lies the statue of Aniruddha carrying away Usha, and the war which took place thereafter, and there claim to be said hundreds and thousands to be killed. Up there is a platform on the hill from where you can witness the view point of the Tezpur city.

The ideal time to visit this place is from November to March. Not just the weather remains pleasant but the clear atmosphere too gives you the best view from the hillock. Summer in the month can be quite warm and should be avoided. In addition, monsoon period is not good time to go to this place.
