A memorial dedicated to Ambedkar went public on his 100th birth anniversary date of 14 April 1991 through the celebration by Sunder Lal Patwa who served as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. The memorial design was created through the architectural talent of architect E.D. Nimgade. The memorial was later inaugurated by Ambedkar enthusiasts on his 117th birthday which took place on April 14th 2008. The memorial occupies almost 4.52 acres of real estate.
