A pilgrim centre and the temple of Adya Ma, Adyapith is nearby Dakshineswar temple. Having been instructed in dream, Sree Annada Thakur opened the temple of ‘Adya Ma’, to instruct man the tenets of love and idealism. Work started in 1340 BS and the temple was consecrated on the fourth day during the Makar Sankranti (the last day of Bangali month of Poush) in 1375 BS.

At the bottom a Murti of Sri Ramakrishna with inscribed “Guru” next to middle altar a duplicate of the Adya Ma Murti found by Ananda Thakur in Eden Garden. This murti exists in eight different metals. One of Tanc’s corrupted works, “Knowledge and Work” is nearby inscribed. The top most part is adored with the murtis of Radha and Krishna. Divine Couple is famous throughout the world. On the altar love is also put. One hour before sunrise, Mangalarati starts; at 10.30, Bhogarati starts and at 1.5hrs after sunrise Sitalarati begins.

Situated in a quiet village of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, Chakla Dham is a pilgrimage point of worship for the devotees of Lokenath Bramhachari, lovingly known as Lokenath Baba. Situated by Guma or Bira railway stations, Chakla Dham has both spiritual and emotional significance as birthplace of this legendary saint, philosopher and healer.

Chakla is known worldwide for the Lokenath Baba Temple, which attracts pilgrims and spiritual travellers from all corners of India, and even overseas. Lokenath Baba 19-th century sage, is generally considered as a miraculous yogi, a kind of person who has acquired the power of divine. His instruction, healing and ascetic life has won for him the love and veneration of millions.

The Nestled on the banks of Hooghly River near Barrackpore, Annapurna Mandir is no longer a temple but a demonstration of the spiritual attentiveness, architectural fairness, and powerful Bengal cultural heritage. Inaugurated by none other than Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa himself, this temple is, by itself, a deep testament to the spiritual reawakening in 19th century Bengal.

The Annapurna Temple was inaugurated for worship on April 12, 1875 (30th Chaitra 1281 B.S.), (Opened by Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa, one of India’s greatest spiritual icons). This magnificent event made the temple possess sacred atmosphere and draws thousands of its devotees and admirers annually.

It is architecturally replica of important Dakshineswar Kali Temple, preserving nava-ratna (nine spire) style. It follows the aesthetic and spiritual attunement of its sister that was highly implicated in Sri Ramakrishna.
