Courtallam is the southern region town located in Tenkasi district of Tamil Nadu and known as the ‘Spa of South India.’ If has a total of nine falls and one is the Old Falls that is also called Pazhaya Courtallam. This fall gives one time to marvel at the beautiful scene and even take a shower under the waterfalls unlike some other waterfalls that a list few tourists visit due to the crowds. Established By A Ruler Named Parakrama Pandyan , This Temple Is One Of Those Places To Visit In Tenkasi For Which Kasi Viswanathar Temple Is Well Known. It is also known as Ulagamman temple where Kasi Viswanathar hailed as the self-born deity (Swayambu) and his consort is Ulagamman. This temple known as ‘Kasi of the South’ has three deities: Siva, Amman and Murugan shrine. It also has pillars which emit musical note when struck with fingers, sculptures, and statues of Veerabhadra, Rathi-Manmatha, Nataraja and Kali Devi and Thirumal idols respectively. As per the principles, even the puja performed in this temple is on par with that in Kasi.

Located in the southern region of India, Gundar Dam was built in 1983 to meet the irrigation needs of the Thirunelveli district. This is the Gundar Dam situated at the Sengottai which lies at the foothold of the Western Ghats. It used to be that only the locals would come to this place, but currently even the tourist cannot easily travel past this area. This contains facts that show that the place of the Gundar Dam and the park provides a perfect place for a picnic because of the beautiful scenery, densely forested and offers picturesque views.

Situated at a height of 400 m at the top of a small hill in Panpoli, Thirumalai Kovil is a Murugan Temple. The idol of Lord Murugan, that is, Thirumalai Kumaraswamy or Thirumalai Murugan sits in a standing posture inside the temple is housed in the temple with four hands. 625 stairs lead to the temple which comprises of a small idol of Lord Ganesha at the main gate. Yet another way to reach the temples is by the road, which takes you straight to temple entrance. This temple has great celebrations for Thai Pusam festival in January and February. Located near the boundary of Kerala, this Temple surrounded by Western Ghats is one of the popular tourist places near Tenkasi.

5. Thirukutralanathar Temple

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Thirukutralanathar Temple is one of the Pancha (five) Sabhas of Lord Nataraja, namely Chitra Sabha and also the sixth one of Thevara Sthalam of the Pandya Kingdom of Tamil Nadu. According to the Puranas, the temple was originally a Vaishnava temple and the vaistaava temple was converted into a Shiva lingam by Sage Agasthya. The temple has idols of Lord Shiva, here worshipped as Kutralanathar and his consort is Goddess Parvati as Kuzhalvoi Mozhiamman. There are idols of Lord Ganesha and Lord Murugan too, and individual temples for two shivalingams like Kasi Vishwanathar, Lord Vishnu, Navgrahas, Kasi Visalakshi, Tenkasi Vishwanathar, Adi Parashakti and Nellaiyappar Gandhimathi Ambal.
